In 2017, during a relaxing family vacation, Simon Schmidt, a passionate tea lover and industrial engineer, encountered a classic mishap: His tea brewed too long and became bitter. But what began as a minor annoyance sparked a great inventive spirit. Why shouldn't tea be simpler, faster, and more sustainable? Thus was born the idea for TEABALLS – a revolution in tea enjoyment.

The breakthrough
2019 was the year TEABALLS first gained significant attention. Thanks to appearances on national television—including on ProSieben's "Das Ding des Jahres" (The Thing of the Year) with Joko Winterscheidt and Lena Gercke— TEABALLS became known overnight. The online shop boomed, and grocery retailers also showed increasing interest in our innovative tea alternative.
Challenges and growth
The 2020 pandemic brought challenges, but TEABALLS used this time to further develop the product and extract the best from the tea plant. After the pandemic, the company resumed sales activities and continued to grow with the support of new investors.
